John Henry EDMONDS, b. ca 1831, ____ son of John EDMONDS and Mary Ann KIBBY married in 1855 at Nairne, South Australia to Mary JOHNS, b. 1838 ___, dau of Richard JOHNS and Margaret NANCARROW.

John & Mary EDMONDS had their first children in South Australia and probably arrived in south-west Victoria about 1860. They were living at Bruk Bruk (Carapook) in 1868 when twin girls Ada & Eva were born. John EDMONDS signed a letter dated 1 Nov 1865 from the Bruk Bruk School Committee to the Board of Education applying for aid under the Common Schools Act.

The family appears to have moved north to the Harrow and Clear Lake area around 1876.

Susannah EDMONDS a sister of John was married to Richard JOHNS a brother of Mary. This couple also had children in the Casterton and Clear Lake areas. James JOHNS another brother of Mary & Richards died in Beerik Parish in 1871, aged 30.
