Portland, S-W Victoria was married in 1834 at Kingussie, Inverness-shire, Scotland to Margaret McKAY, c.1810-1857, b. Inverness-shire, Sctotland, daughter of John & Jessie McKAY; d. Portland, S-W Victoria. Kenneth McKENZIE, wife and 2 children arrived in Sydney, Colony of NSW in 1838 on the "St George", then on to Port Phillip on the "Hope" in 1839. Kenneth McKENZIE was an early squatter at Hotspur, on the Crawford river, and a hotel owner at Portland. Kenneth McKENZIE occupied the "Snizort" Pastoral Run at Hotspur in partnership with Hector McDONALD from 1845 to 1854. Kenneth McKENZIE held the licence for the "Union Inn" in Portland in the 1850s. He built "McKENZIE's Private Hotel" in Tyers-street, Portland 1855/56. Kenneth McKENZIE died at Portland, S-W Victoria in 1858 and his wife Margaret also died at Portland, S-W Victoria in 1857. They were both buried in the North Portland (Old) Cemetery, Victoria, Australia. Kenneth McKENZIE & Margaret McKAY appear to have had the following children:
