Malachi WATERS b. ca 1831, Co Limerick, Ireland was married in 1856 in Ireland to Mary KANE b. ca 1836, Co Clare, Ireland.

Malachi & Mary arrived at Portland in Oct 1856 on the "General Hewett" and were employed near Horsham by Mr I SMITH.

Their first child, Michael Thomas WATERS was born in the Horsham area and the remainder of their children had births registered at Portland in S-W Victoria.

Malachi & Mary WATERS were living at Digby in 1892 when their youngest son Thomas WATERS, then aged 14-15 years accidentally shot himself when rabbitting and was buried in the Digby cemetery.

Malachi & Mary WATERS died at Wallacedale and were both buried at Digby in 1902 & 1908 respectively.
