Dugald McINTYRE 1839-1900
& Ann GARDINER 1848-1929 Lochgilphead & Dunning, Scotland ; Merino & Nareen, S-W Victoria & Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia Dugald McINTYRE was b. 1839, Lochgilphead, Argyllshire, Scotland, son of Dugald McINTYRE & Mary McGILP and the McINTYRE family arrived in Victoria in 1853 on the 'Duke of Richmond' and first settled near Hotspur, S-W Victoria before aquiring land at Merino, S-W Victoria which they named 'Laggan' after the pale of that name in Lochgilphead, Argyllshire, Scotland. Ann GARDINER was b. 1848, Dunning, Perthshire, Scotland, daughter of James GARDINER and Margaret TAYLOR and the GARDNER family arrived at Portland, S-W Victoria in 1852 on the "John Davies." They resided in Portland for a few years before moving to Merino, S-W Victoria about 1861. Dugald McINTYRE was married in 1868 at Merino, S-W Victoria to Ann GARDINER and the family lived at Merino, Nareen and then moved to Toowoomba in Queensland where they remained for a few years before returning to Merino. Dugald and Ann McINTYRE raised a large family before Dugald died in 1900 and Ann in 1929, both at Merino and are buried in the Merino cemetery.
